The American Psychiatric Association (APA) is working on a revision to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders that would include Introversion as one of six trait domains to be used in the diagnosis of personality disorders. The definition of the Introversion – which you can see here: http://www.dsm5.org/ProposedRevisions/pages/proposedrevision.aspx?rid=473# – is not one that type practitioners, nor I believe CG Jung, would support.
The APA is taking comments on the proposal until April 20th, 2010 and I will be working with others to craft an APTi comment. CPP, Inc. and CAPT are both working on comments as well.
Have ideas to share on this topic? Respond here on the eChapter blog, contact me via email or go directly to the portion of the APA site devoted to the DSM revision: http://www.dsm5.org/Pages/Default.aspx to make your comment.

Katherine,
Thank you for bringing the DSM proposed revision to our attention.
I haven’t found any reference to this on the APTi site. Its News section on the homepage would seem like a good place to post the information about the APA’s DSM revision in regard to Introversion.
Just Sharing,
Kathy
